I admit it -- I turned 50 last December and I am fine with it -- honest. I struggled a bit at 49, but 50 is okay. Now that I am about to turn 51, I am okay with that too. Years are after all just a time marker and the more you have the better off you are!
One of the constants in my life have been my friends. Whether new or old I value all my friendships. I have been so honored to know the women in the picture below since I was (in some cases) 5 years old! I can vividly recall a get well card from one of them when I was hospitalized in kindergarten.
I'm not sure why I am so blessed to have these dear friends -- what I've done to deserve them. I have not always nourished our friendships through the years and yet they've always been there for me when I needed them the most!
I appreciate each and every one of them -- they each bring unique gifts and insight to our friendship table. I wish I could spend more time with them and I can't wait to see them again! If any of you need me, you know where to find me 24/7/365. SPADE!

Hi Monica, great that you have so many friends and that you've had them for so many years. I live in IL too but in the "other IL" haha They always say there are 2 Illinois' Chicago and the rest of the state, lol I'm in mid central but my mom was from Melrose Park, smiles. I still have some relatives up there and one of my sisters lives in Arlington Heights, smiles. Take care... Jan
