A woman from Nevada was stabbed with a butcher knife 10 times and then had her head stomped after ending her courtship with a man she met on Match.com.
Mary Kate Beckman, 50 met Wade Ridley in 2010 on March.com. After an 8 day courtship, she ended their relationship. Mr. Ridley was none too happy about that!
Ms. Beckman filed a $10 million lawsuit against Match.com claiming that they don't do enough to keep violent offenders off the website.

Oh my goodness! This is horrible!! I'm so glad she lived to tell the tale. I've never tried online dating, but this gives me serious concerns for my friends who do.
ReplyDeleteThis is scary. I haven't used an online dating service, but two friends did. One had a string of crummy dates and dropped it after a few months. The other met a great guy and they are now married. So it seems like life in general - some great guys, some not so great and a few that are dangerous sociopaths.
ReplyDeleteI have tried online dating, and am happy to say I have never had a bad experience. I guess I should consider myself lucky. There are some crazy people in this world, and it's hard to depict the good from the bad. maybe these sites should start background checks. Scary!
