The Comfort of Black!

Set aside from free time when you open The Comfort of Black.  It is thrilling, fast moving and very hard to put down!  I read it in two sessions, forgetting all about my other evening obligations, as I turned page after page!  From its shocking beginning, the book quickly hits full speed and doesn't slow down until the very end.

The Comfort of Black has more twists and turns than a ride up a mountain.  Ostensibly a thriller following the life of Hannah Parks, a young wife ready to start her family with her husband, tech entrepreneur, Dallin. The book is really much more than just your everyday thriller; it explores loss and identity, the need to escape the past while always, as we all are, caught within the past's vise-like grip and the meaning of memory and memory's effect on desire.

This is a dark book and it careens from plot twist to plot twist. Hannah is a very likeable character, caught up in her past, trying to make sense of her present and hurtling toward the future. Her path is not helped by her pursuers, some of whom she considers her friends and family.

With this book, Carter Wilson joins the masters of the genre. I eagerly await his next book and highly recommend The Comfort of Black if you are looking for a great thriller this summer!  You can find it HERE.
