Lost Civilizations Review!

I love to read.  The older I get the more I love reading factual books that provide useful information. That's why when I was given the chance to read Lost Civilizations 10 Societies that Vanished Without a Trace, I was immediately interested!

Written by Michael Rank, the bestselling author of History's Greatest Generals (and many others!), this book shares with us ten fascinating societies that have disappeared and tries to figure out the reasons why.  

Mr. Rank writes about the lost City of Atlantis, ancient explorers of America, the ancient Pueblo peoples, the Roanoke Colony and others.  I was particularly fascinated about the Roanoke Colony although that when you realize that getting supplies back and forth from England took over a year, that it was easy to hypothesize how those left behind could disappear.  Mr. Rank suggests some possibilities but leaves it to the reader to further explore in depth what may have really happened.  

While a short book and an easy read, this is a real door-opener to in depth analysis and further research on lost civilizations.  I found this intriguing and intend to use this book as a gateway to my personal research.

I highly suggest this book if you enjoy thinking about those who have gone before us and the reasons why some of these civilizations disappeared with very little trace.
